Critical thinking skills are one of the most important skills for 21st century workers. According to The Foundation for Critical Thinking, a person who practices critical thinking:
- raises vital questions and problems, formulating them clearly and precisely
- gathers and assesses relevant information, using abstract ideas to interpret effectively
- reaches well-reasoned conclusions and solutions and tests them against relevant criteria and standards
- thinks open-mindedly within alternative systems of thought
- communicates effectively with others to solve complex problems
